Boots on the Box: Memoirs of a Go-Go Boy, Berkley Angel

This book chronicles my personal experiences that lead me to become one of the top go-go boys in New York City in the 90's working with Marc Berkley when go-go dancing became fashionable at gay clubs and the New York nightlife scene was at its peak. Boots on the Box: Memoirs of a Go-Go Boy, Berkley Angel tells the story of a young Bronx Latino and his introduction to the Manhattan gay scene.  The truth is humble at its core as it shares the bonds between two brothers, of friendships and relationships that emerge and the family that one creates when they leave their old images and stories behind and forge ahead with new identities and a new life.

This book is dedicated to my brother Jaime Ortiz. It is a coming of age story of a young Puerto Rican male in New York City and his experiences from Boston to Canada.  It is also a very real and descriptive view of the gay nightlife during the 90’s.
